What does this means: my friend told me her mother use to tell her after she been spanked?

and tears running?
down her cheeks, as she wipes the tears away. Her mother would say to her. “Your not going to wear my tears”? What does that means? why would her mother ask/say that to her

Perhaps that she doesn’t want her daughter to suffer the same way that she did? That’s if I understand the question correctly!
